A stream, an orchard, a castle down the road, and a monastery within reach.
You stay in a property that overlooks a stream, sits inside a fruit orchard, and looks up at the peaks of Kullu. The property is held exclusively for your cohort during your stay. Himachali food comes from the kitchen in the evenings, cooked by the property team. There is space to unwind, common areas for the children to play, and workstations if a parent needs half an hour.
Fly into Bhuntar, then a forty-minute drive. Or arrive on the overnight luxury bus from Delhi. Either way, you land, settle in, and eat together. No activity is asked of you on the first evening.
A walk through the fruit trees in the morning. Lunch beside the stream. In the evening, what was picked in the morning becomes jam in a jar the child takes home.
A drive to Naggar Castle to see how a wooden mountain palace holds up its own weight. Then to the Roerich estate and gallery, to see a painter who spent his life on the mountains. Back at the property, the children build the castle from ice cream sticks and paint the same mountains in graduated shades.
A quiet morning at Kais Monastery, the closest monastery to Dobhi. Prayer wheels, a blessing, five still minutes. Back to the property for a closing ritual. Departure by mid-afternoon.
The jar of jam they made on Day 2. The layered mountain painting from Day 3. A card for each experience they completed. A single-line note from the field leader with the child's name and one specific thing about them from the trip.
Every family that visits Dobhi collects three or four cards. Come back for a second trip and the leader designs a different set. Collect all eight and you receive a handmade Dobhi memorabilia, designed for this valley alone.
